Pennsylvania Online Casino Revenue Climbs to $245.7 Million in August, Even as Overall Gaming Revenue Slips
Pennsylvania's regulated online casinos generated $245.7 million in gross revenue in August 2026, up 6.3% from the same month last year, according to figures reported this week from the state's gaming regulator. The growth came even as Pennsylvania's total gaming revenue — which also includes retail slots, table games, and sports betting — fell 2.2% year-over-year to $569.7 million, making online casino one of the only categories still expanding in an otherwise softening month for the state's gaming industry.
Slots carried the growth, table games slipped
Online slots remained the dominant share of Pennsylvania's iGaming revenue at roughly 79% of the total, and slot revenue growth outpaced the category average. Online table games and online poker each posted small year-over-year declines, a pattern consistent with the broader trend of slot-heavy growth driving most of the state's online casino gains. Retail table games and retail sports betting revenue both fell sharply for the month — down double digits year-over-year — which explains most of the statewide decline despite online casino's continued strength.
Who's leading the market
Hollywood Casino at Penn National led all operators in online casino revenue for the month at roughly $95.4 million, up about 11.6% year-over-year. Valley Forge Casino Resort followed at roughly $67.4 million, essentially flat versus last August, while Rivers Casino Philadelphia posted around $39.9 million, up about 9%. Smaller operators showed some of the sharpest percentage gains off lower bases, continuing a pattern of the state's mid-size iGaming brands closing ground on the market leaders even as the top operators hold the largest overall share.
Why it matters to Pennsylvania players
Pennsylvania remains one of the largest regulated online casino markets in the country, and a month where iGaming grows while the state's broader gaming revenue contracts is a reminder of how much of the industry's momentum has shifted online relative to retail. For players, that growth doesn't change payout math or game selection directly, but it reflects an online casino market that continues to draw more play and more operator investment in Pennsylvania than most of its retail counterparts.
