Games Global Enters West Virginia, Its 5th US iGaming State

Games Global has secured regulatory approval to supply its online casino game content in West Virginia, extending its regulated US footprint to a fifth state. The company previously launched in Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, according to reporting confirmed October 12, 2026.

What Games Global is

Games Global is an online casino game content supplier formed in 2022 when it acquired Microgaming's games portfolio and distribution business — one of the longer-running brands in the slot and table-game supply side of the industry, predating the current wave of US online casino expansion by decades under its earlier Microgaming branding. Rather than operating consumer-facing sportsbooks or casino brands directly, suppliers like Games Global license their game libraries to the licensed operators and platforms that do, which is the typical path a content studio takes into a newly regulated US online casino market.

Why a fifth state matters

West Virginia has permitted regulated online casino gambling since 2020, making it one of the smaller but more mature iGaming markets among the roughly handful of US states that currently allow it. A content supplier adding a new state doesn't change the betting or payout math for players the way a new state legalizing online casino gambling outright would — but it does mean a wider library of slot and table titles becomes available to players already using a licensed West Virginia online casino, assuming the state's existing licensed operators choose to carry that content.

For a supplier, each additional state approval is also a compounding part of a broader national rollout; with Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania already live, West Virginia continues a pattern of expansion across the small set of states where regulated online casino gambling is currently legal.

What it means for players

This is a supply-side development rather than a new place to legally gamble online — West Virginia residents with access to a licensed online casino already had that option. The practical effect, if and when West Virginia's licensed operators integrate the new content, is simply more game variety within an already-regulated, already-legal market. As always, our casino guides cover how to evaluate any specific game on its own math — house edge, RTP, and volatility — regardless of which supplier built it.
